Weather Warnings

The Met Office regularly update their website with weather warnings for the United Kingdom.

On 07/12/17 the following was issued;

Level 3 cold weather alert

A Level 3 cold weather alert has been issued from the Met office from 0900 on Thursday 07 Dec and 0800 on Tuesday 12 Dec in South East England. This means that there is a 90% probability of severe cold weather/icy conditions/heavy snow during this time.

It will be cold throughout the day and night with biting winds. Weather is expected to remain very cold over the weekend and beyond the current alert period. Further updates will be provided if there are any changes.

Temperatures are likely to drop to levels that increase the risk of ill health among vulnerable adults, particularly older people, those with long term conditions and those living in cold homes.

Age UK has produced this guide to keeping warm and well this winter.
